| Well the water temperature is well into summer suit territory, and it’s mighty nice to be back in a summer suit! So how about the TK90? Well I have to be honest I love my current summer suit (one that we have reviewed) so the TK90 was up again some pretty tough competition straight away! But it certainly held its own! I'm a happy person in the summer (when it’s not flat that is!) Everything for the most part seems better when it’s nice and warm - but best of all you get to jump back into your nice flexible thin summer suit. Important things for a summer suit to get right are (in no particular order and by no means exclusively) Comfort, you are most likely to spend almost as much time in your summer suit as your other suits, and if you’re lucky you'll be able to stay in the summer suit right up until November - so the suits got to be comfortable and easy to wear. Anatomic fit, another important feature about a summer suit, which often very cheap unbranded wetsuits just plain don’t seem to bother about, sure they are probably fine for those who like to wear a wetsuit whilst swimming, but if you are surfing you have to have a suit that fits the body's shape correctly. This will stop water collecting in certain parts of the suit, and cooling you too much. Build quality - the summer suit by definition is thinner and more susceptible to wear than your thicker spring or winter suit, so it’s vital that the suit has been made well, including the seams, the neck seal and probably most importantly the knee pads as they take a real thrashing. So how about the Tiki 90 then? How well does it stand up to our tried and tested? First impressions of the suit were good, visually it looks nice, it’s a nice design which as we have mentioned previously is not exactly crucial but nice to have. The suit fit extremely well anatomically, and is nice and comfy too. The suit has a good feel to it, it doesn’t feel flimsy, but on the flip side it doesn’t feel too heavy for a summer suit either, it feels like they have got the balance right. In the water it feels great, the high quality liquid seams combined with the anti flush system let absolutely no water in, so you can have no complaints about it leaking! The water repellent coating seems to do a good job, if you are waiting for a set with the wind howling it doesn’t feel cold still which is usually where a suit that holds water in the top half would fall down. The one area where the suit dropped very slightly for me is the cuffs. They have a tight, elastic band type cuff which is a great design for keeping water out, however considering the suit itself fit me like a glove, I felt the cuffs were a little too tight, very nearly bordering on uncomfortable - I do feel however that after a month or so of wearing this suit that there is every chance this would probably slacken off. Overall? Top notch suit. So warm and water proof, you hardly know you are in the water. Is it as good as more expensive suits? Definitely, longevity obviously can't be tested in this review, but we will report again with an update as to how the suit has faired after a good seasons wear. Sunset surf tried and tested approved!
